Dr. Neil Zachs DMD, MS

Dr. Neil Zachs earned his dentistry degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 1992. He then went on to a surgical residency in periodontics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. While there, in conjunction with the University of Texas at San Antonio, he earned his Master of Science in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Radiology. He was the first to publish a paper on a longitudinal research study looking at alveolar bone density changes in post-menopausal women. After his residency, he went on to private practice in South New Jersey for 21 years. He also served as an assistant clinical professor in the periodontology department at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

As a periodontist, Dr. Zachs is a dental specialist who focuses on the structures that support the teeth. He performs not only traditional periodontal procedures aimed at saving dentition but also various soft tissue grafting procedures to treat “gum recession.” He is very proficient in the surgical phase of dental implant placement and has placed approximately 10,000 implants during his career.

Dr. Zachs is so happy to be a part of the incredible team at North Scottsdale Dentistry. He resides in beautiful Scottsdale with his wife, Lisa, and they have two amazing daughters.
